I am so excited! I have just opened my very own creative community for you to come and play in!

My first online class Mixed Media Basics was so much fun and I really loved the teaching, it really opened up so much for me creatively than I expected. I’ve tried creating my own communities in the past but it just wasn’t the right time for me but now I feel it’s right to go ahead and jump right in.

I taught the first MMB class on a private blog which turned out to be more limited than I had realised, so I decided to move to Ning and open up the options to teach more classes in one place as well as have the opportunity to offer free classes and add not just my art and videos but be able to enjoy communicating with you on a much larger scale.

This is going to be such fun and as the name suggests a big adventure!

Following on from my last post, I sat down to paint my first painting since my miracle and look what came out! I was painting in the background first and trying to see what was there and then I saw them, these two little whimsical characters and a little house. I went with it and discovered that these two are symbolic of what has happened to me and I knew instantly that this would be called ‘You ARE Good Enough!’. How perfect!

It’s been quite an adventure to paint since my miracle, I’ve felt like God is working on me to refine my skills and paintings are happening that are total surprises to me, like this one. I think they are quite cute, don’t you?

Do you ever feel like hiding? Perhaps you keep your ideas to yourself for fear of being laughed at? Or perhaps you don’t let yourself go fully when you are around certain people because you fear you might be judged?

For many years I’ve hidden my true self, only allowing people to see the parts of me that I was ok about sharing. I’ve always been pretty shy and preferred to keep my thoughts and ideas to myself when around others. I even held back with my art for fear of not being ‘good enough’.

Well, on Tuesday I had an amazing experience with God that has released me from a lot of negative thoughts, bad self image and depression that had been looming over me for several years and just recently had become a lot worse. I allowed God to work in me and completely surrendered to Him knowing I could no longer ‘fix’ this myself.

Since then I feel ‘me’ again, I am free of those negative thoughts and feelings about myself, the past doesn’t hurt me anymore and I feel light and free to be me. I can’t tell you how good this feels. I painted ‘Stop Hiding’ last week before my miracle happened and now I believe it is the perfect message that when you step out in faith you will be rewarded.

Trust and be yourself, the world needs you to!

Need a lift? It’s been a little tough for me lately and this latest painting is a cute little reminder - because sometimes you really do need a cuppa and a cake to feel better! (Just not every day lol :D)

The weekend was very exciting! Dad came over and helped Hubby lay the topsoil, sand and then ta da grass!!! It’s so amazing to finally be staring at grass as I type this outside!!!

Next weekend we get to cut it to the shape we want and put in our flower borders! So exciting, we’ve been waiting years for this moment.

Afterwards we celebrated with a BBQ with our family and of course cake

Well, I never thought I would be painting chickens! LOL! But every evening we walk past this beautiful homestead while walking Ellie.

The grounds around it always has chickens roaming or bunnies hopping around. It’s just such a delight to see that I couldn’t resist painting my impression of it all.

Next up, the geese by the river!

We’ve had some pretty weird weather here lately. Yesterday we had some mild storms, lot’s of lovely rain and then the sun was out and the rain came down, but where was the rainbow? I couldn’t see it from my house.

I was thinking, I don’t often see them but when I do wow do they blow me away. We once saw a double rainbow when we were walking Ellie, wish I’d had my camera with me.

This little painting ‘Rainbow Cottage’ was inspired by my love of country and rainbows!

Lot’s of sparkle on this one, you know I just couldn’t resist

When I started out with these new online classes my intention has always been to share them in a way that will truly benefit your growth as an artist and help you to learn as much as I can possibly share to get you on your way.

Now that Mixed Media Basics is drawing to the end I am now ready to release my next class – Style & Inspiration.

In Mixed Media Basics we learnt literally all the basics with some teaching on painting too. I am so passionate about encouraging you to nurture your own abilities for drawing and painting and so Style & Inspiration is all about doing just that.

I want you to find out what makes you squeal in delight, what makes you want to run to your studio and sketch out that idea and start laying down paint. What makes you so excited you just have to do something about it.

When you are hurting and need comfort, what you respond to most in terms of creation.

And, finally teaching you how to see like an artist!

In this fun class we are going to take ourselves on a journey of discovery. We will be delving into the depths of our hearts and seeing the world (Well, ok Suffolk lol) we will be loving and kind to ourselves and really nurture what’s inside just waiting to come out into our own expressions.
